The Deep End

A classroom sits at the bottom of an empty pool, in the deep end. The location is a clever improvisation by a small school for abused and neglected children, where space is lacking, in Port-au-Prince, #Haiti.
  6.
World Environment Day 2013 (Port-au-Prince, Haiti), a set on Flickr.
UNV (United Nations Volunteers) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti work with children during activities leading up to and in honor of World Environment Day 2013. Activities, included creating recycled paper by hand, and learning about the environment through games reflecting this year’s theme of “Think.Eat.Save”.
  7. One of two nuns I recently met, who runs a school for underprivileged children in Grand Goave, Haiti with support from a small Canadian non-profit, Action Haiti.
A colleague of mine volunteered to make the school a website, and invited me and another colleague along to visit the school, where we volunteered, to take photos of the school and portraits of them for their, soon-to-be, website.
